The Girls Football Academy (GFA), might seem like a very normal step towards training young ladies to play soccer, but surprisingly this is the first ever exclusive female academy in Lebanon and the Middle East stressing strictly on females and football. An initiative founded by Walid Arakji and Nadia Assaf, the academy offers unique training, giving each player the opportunity to play to their full potential.
BeirutNightLife.com paid the academy a visit and spoke to the coaches, team members and founders of the teams. The academy trains 4 categories including under 9 years old, under 13, under 18 and the senior team which is currently competing locally and top of the Lebanese female league.
Speaking to the coaches and founders, they have expressed their optimism with the potential they have and they seek to create a solid base for young female players.
