A Night of Poetry with Jahida Wehbe

The night of 26th of August, 2012, and with the sunset  at Kfarsama – Mesh Mesh – and under the patronage of father Mansour Labaki, the artist Jahida Wehbe gave a musical concert in which she sang from the big poets of Lebanon like for example Gebran Khalil Gebran, Mikhail Neaimeh, Said Akl, Al Akhtal Al Saghir, Elia Bou Madi, Elias Abou Chabake, Anis Al Hage, Rushdi Al Maalouf, Talal Haidar, Salah Labaki, Michel Trad, Henry Zgheib and Amine Nakhle…

The musical repertory has mainly come from her personal wonderful composition, additionally to some other classics and Lebanese famous songs, arranged and directed by Claude Chalhoub, as well as the apparition of the promising artist Rami Boutros.

Funds of the events went to the construction of the village of peace at Kfarsama, which was a dream and “a glowing pearl” in father Labaki’s chaplet of life and it became true, and represented a place of meeting for every young person, and a reunion for every family, and a safe place for every old aged person and orphan and for every occasion happiness and refinement and culture and  communication.

The remarkable journalist Majed Bou Ghadir was presenting the event who related in his speech that Jahida Wehde has been chosen by the University of Cambridge, London, to be part of 2000 cultured persons in this century, which has delegated a special complete file within pages of the university international dictionary, as well as the choice of her book “Al azrak wal hudhud” For the price of Sheikh Zayed, in the category of poetry and literature.
