Rock lovers in Lebanon, had another experience in November to experience more of the live rock music. Hail brought to you by Rock Ring, with live performance for All Star Band featuring David Ellefson, Andreas Kisser, Tim “Ripper” Owens, Paul Bostaph.
HAIL! all-star band, first show ever in Lebanon
For the first time in the Lebanon’s history, a high ranked heavy metal band from the American continent plays a sold-out show in Kaslik, 15 km North of Beirut.
The band members are metal icons David Ellefson (former Megadeth), Paul Bostaph (formed Slayer, currently Testament), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), and Tim “Ripper” Owens (former Iced Earth/Judas Priest, currently Yngwie Malmsteen).
They have travelled from 4 different states in USA and from Brazil to play in what is their most ‘exotic’ concert ever in Lebanon.
The band HAIL! is a side-project for the members, and they play covers of many of the metal classics such as Pantera, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, AC/DC, Accept, Motorhead, Sepultura, and others.
An event made possible by Rockring (www.rockringlb.com), who has already gained reputation in the past few years as organizers of the biggest & best local rock/metal events, this time brings forward an impressive international act.
People from all over Lebanon and the neighbouring countries flooded to Kaslik to witness a historic night that featured the all star band HAIL! The band has brought together legends of the metal genre into one place, and for the first time.
Lebanon has had a series of rock oriented events recently but the all star lineup of HAIL guaranteed a uniqueness around this event.
The place was sold out and location was packed, a bit too much even, which caused long queues at the gate.
Blood Ink (www.bloodink.com) kicked off their impressive performance that featured some of their originals as well as covers for Pantera, Lamb of God and Metallica.
The crowd then gave a massive cheer as HAIL came on stage to play an impressive 90 minute set that included Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades”, Slayer’s “South of Heaven”, Sepultura’s “Territory”. The band even performed a fun medley to entertain the crowd.
At the end of the set, chants of ‘encore’ resounded through the hall, an HAIL! obliged with few more songs ending off the night with fans cheering their lungs out.
HAIL! event will mark into Lebanon’s history and in the memories of the fans who were there to witness this first-time ever show in the land of the cedars.
This event was also filmed and being produced on DVD, which will also be the first-ever local concert DVD, and will also be sold, also for the first time, internationally ! This will mark Lebanon into the worldwide music map and hopefully open up opportunities for the future.
