Mayrouba is a lovely town located north of Beirut in the Keserwan district, upwards from Jounieh at 1,300 meters above the sea. Set on a plateau, not only does it boast gorgeous views and scenery but there are also some remnants of ancient cultures, including stone age archaeological sites. In fact the town is named after the Mayroubian culture sites dating back to the stone age, mainly from the Middle Paleolithic and Upper Paleolithic eras. The area has several archaeological sites but many of the artifacts have been taken to local museums. Visit Mayrouba and take a walk through a living museum, and take a look at our pictures below.
