Located on the main highway two minutes past the Forum de Beyrouth, is a beautiful reddish-pink building with white windows. This beautiful structure is home to Harbor 201, a new trendy venue with delicious food and mind-blowing, entertaining live music.
The décor is modern and chic yet grungy with just the right touch of class and comfort. It’s a venue that can transform from an intimate evening to a lively hot spot in one hour. The bar is spacious and offers a view of the entire place including the stage where the singers are performing. The VIP area is at a slightly higher level and the tables are all comfortably situated to create room for dancing.
The staff was very friendly and hospitable; the service was also very efficient, which is refreshing for a restaurant/nightclub. We were pleasantly surprised with the food, a delicious Asian Fusion cuisine served in good portions. We started with the Asian Duet, a combination of chicken and shrimps with a sweet chili sauce. The chicken was absolutely delicious. The Tokyo-Santorini Salad was very fresh, light, and delicious. There was very little sauce in it and the calamari was bursting with flavor – I highly recommend it. We continued with the Tomohito Sushi Set that was okay, but not excellent. As a main course, the Black Angus Filet seemed like the appropriate choice – and that it was! It was deliciously grilled to a succulent medium-rare with a generous portion of veggies and fried potatoes on the side – yummy!
The dessert menu was such a treat! I was ecstatic to find The Original Cheescake all the way from The Dream Factory (The Cheesecake Factory bakery) – it was absolutely delectable. I recommend it to cheesecake lovers (and haters) everywhere; thank me later.
Aside to the good food, the ambiance was great! I can’t stress enough on how much I loved the live band. Each vocalist had a unique, strong, and beautiful voice. They sang oldies and contemporary hits in English and French. I especially loved how they interacted with the customers – everyone was engaged with the show and I was personally very disappointed when it ended.
This venue is a great choice for a first date or a night out with friends since it combines elegance, comfort, fun, great food, and lively music. I will definitely be making a return visit.
