Beirut’s newest hangout is the fresh and funky Junkyard Beirut gastropub in Mar Mikhael. After a successful run in summer 2012 as a pop-up restaurant in the same area, the owners developed a more permanent restaurant centered around the same concept. Junkyard features 3 floors of amazingly well-placed “junk”, decorated in a fun and innovative way and presenting eye-catching details at every turn. From a giant old trunk coming out of a wall, to graffiti, colorful jars, and paint cans, the “junk” at Junkyard is some of the coolest decor in town. The crowd on Friday night enjoyed a lively atmosphere in the creative space of the gastropub, and savoured the amazing food and cocktails. It’s a must try!
