The Basement Reunion 2

With 2 months on the clock Basement-less, the guys behind the movement are making sure everyone stays connected. With an average of one reunion every 2 or 3 weeks, Basement-lovers have something to look forward to amid the chaos its closing down has created in their nightlife schedules (mine included!)

The venue, a perfect fit for the Basement reunion, is Karantina’s Art Lounge. This venue is only a stone’s throw away from Forum de Beyrouth, and has proven to be an easy-to-access location, but with a decor and essence true to the non-mainstream movement.

The lineup this week featured Jade and DJette. Jade is of course the creator of The Basement, and its foremost resident DJ. Currently touring parts of the Middle East and Europe, Jade makes sure he doesn’t leave his fans hanging for too long in between gigs in Lebanon.

DJette’s set was an amazing mix of tech-house and disco, with classics remixed and remade to become more danceable, yet with the same nostalgic-feel.

This time around, a special T-shaped dancefloor was erected, with the white surface illuminated in multicolor LED displays, with frequencies and colors matching the music, illuminating the clubbers and venue in a surreal manner, couple of course with the authentic Basement discoball hanging above.
