New Year’s Fun Spills Over on Uruguay Street!

It’s only a few meters long but Uruguay Street in the heart of Beirut was packed on New Year’s Eve with people who wanted a fun-filled street-style celebration, that nevertheless retained a lot of class and glamour. The bars on the street had festive themes and gave away funky and unique party favors but people didn’t just keep to themselves… The good weather permitted the fun to spill out into the street as people danced and had a great time, sharing the good times with neighboring party-goers, happily running into old friends and making new acquaintances. The merry making continued for hours as the crowd celebrated the start of a new year with loads of unabashed and easygoing good cheer.
