Basement Thrown Back Into the Ice Age on NYE 2011

The last NYE at the Basement before its demolition was indeed an icy one.

By that, we don’t mean cold and sad, but actually icy as in ice age!

The Basement’s bold black interior was covered up in white, with fog, mist and snowflakes covering every surface and turning the New Year’s edition of the Basement a truly, uniquely memorable one, where clubbers got to throw snowballs at each other, in Beirut, underground at the Basement!

A lineup worthy of the Basement’s legendary status wowed the crowd with a blend of local and international musical geniuses. DJ Scarface heated things up first with some Pop and Rnb, followed by Russia’s very own DJ Bestov with a mashup of pop, oldies and classics. Then the Basement’s Jade moved things on to alternative music and dance. The NYE lineup was wrapped up by Elicit and Snatch with a trademark Tech-House set.

The after-party lasted well into the new year, with NYE celebrators and walk-in clubbers extending the party well after the sun had risen!
