She’s never been one to shy away from controversy, and has put on more than her fair share of outlandish performances in her time.
But Madonna took it to a new level as she shocked with her lewd stage antics at New York City’s Madison Square Gardens as as part of her MDNA tour on Monday night.
Scantily clad in a miniscule black bustier, which barely protected her modesty, and a pair of fishnet tights, the 54-year-old singer set to work writhing around as if her life depended on it.
At one stage, the legendary singer took her raunchy antics to the limit when she climbed up onto a piano and straddled the musician playing it, shoving her intimate area straight into his face.
And if that wasn’t enough, the mother-of-four then decided to head straight to the front of the stage, where she appeared to grope herself for all to see.
But the controversy certainly wasn’t over there, with the star then throwing money all over herself as she writhed and wriggled around in her skimpy ensemble and bared her bottom to the audience.
Madonna later transformed into a leather-clad action hero, and seemed to be provocatively licking a gun before pointing the weapon at her head and appearing to cry into her microphone.
Moments later, the legendary singer was bound by chains on the floor, before switching into a girlie cheerleader outfit that would have been more suitable for a teenager than a 54-year-old woman, and flashing her bright red undergarments towards the camera.
And while such a lewd display would have no doubt mortified most pre-teens, Madonna’s eldest son, Rocco Ritchie, 12, didn’t seem the slightest bit embarrassed by his mother’s raunchy antics.
Taking to the stage with a khaki green bandana wrapped around his head and uber-cool red braces hanging by his side, the youngster looked as though he was having a ball as he joined his superstar mummy at her concert.
This is by no means the first time Madonna has caused controversy with her shocking antics.
Earlier this year, the Express Yourself hitmaker was branded ’embarrassing, cringe-worthy and desperate’ by journalist Piers Morgan after she purposefully exposed her right breast while performing in Istanbul, Turkey.
One fan wrote on Twitter at the time: ‘Why is Madonna still showing off her t**s? No, it’s not sexy to see a woman who could be my grandma whipping her nipple around.’
Another added: ‘Isn’t Madonna a little too old to be flashing nip on stage? With her kids in the background (as they’re performing with her on tour?)’
A mere matter of days later, the Queen of Pop slipped off her trousers to reveal her bottom to the audience while performing at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy.
