JLo: The next American Idol Judge

Jennifer Lopez’s deal is set to become a judge on American Idol. According to US Today, Jennifer Lopez has signed the final deals and she will work along side Randy Jackson and fellow newcomer Steven Tyler, with an official announcement expected in early October, when the auditions begin for the new season. After a long negotiation process, “it ended up working out and they have a good agreement,”sources told US Today.

The insider adds that Lopez, 41, was selected as replacement for recently departed judge Kara DioGuardi — not Ellen DeGeneres, who quit the show on her own accord. It is reported that JLO clinched a $12 million deal to be a judge on ‘American Idol’.

The singer-actress has been in negotiation with the show bosses about joining the panel following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. According to earlier reports, Lopez was asking for $15 million and also demanded for a film and TV program from the companies which produce ‘American Idol’ (Fox, Fremantle, and 19 Entertainment). But her demands were turned down. She is now getting $12 million dollars to be one of the judges…

Not a bad deal at all!

It’s happening, after all.
