MTV buys HP servers for ad sales

Hewlett-Packard has sold MTV Networks several 16-processor rp8400 Unix servers for managing ad sales, scheduling and billing for several television networks, the companies said Thursday. The servers, linked into clusters with MC/Serviceguard software that lets one machine take over if another fails, also are linked to HP StorageWorks storage systems. The servers will run software from Management Science Associates, HP said. It will support ads on MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, TNN and other networks.
