It’s hard to believe that it’s only been one year since Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced the iPad at a special press conference held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Everyone knew it was coming, but had no idea what it would be called — the iTablet? the iSlate? or how popular it would be. Since January 27, 2010, Apple has sold 14.8 million units, more than five times what analysts were predicting.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the groundbreaking tablet, OnSwipe, a platform used by publishers to make their content work with touch-enabled devices, released the infographic seen above, which predicts an annual growth rate in excess of 66 percent.
