Exclusive BeirutNightLife: Nick Warren “It will be an Amazing Musical Experience”

Some of my favorite ever shows have been in Beirut, the infamous parties at the old railway station were always amazing, it is fantastic, said Nick Warren in an Exclusive interview with BeirutNightLife.

Nick Warren, who remains at the forefront of club culture packing clubs and arenas worldwide from London to Los Angeles to Taipei, will be united for one night only with another Progressive House Master Hernan Cattaneo on May 8th, 2010 at LA MARINA – Joseph Khoury (DBAYEH). The event, which is hosted by Poliakov Vodka, is considered to be historical since both DJ will play together for the first time ever in Lebanon.

“My good friend Hernan Cattaneo and I will be playing together, so it will be an amazing musical experience in Lebanon. We have played together a couple of times every year and it is always a pleasure. Hernan is a great guy and has impeccable taste in music, the partiea always have a very special vibe to them,” added Nick.

Nick Warren also highlighted that the Lebanese crowds are really up to the international gigs and that the production is always very good, promising them an amazing musical experience, “I will be playing the electronic dance music i love right now, a mix of deepness, melody with plenty of energy.”

The reputed DJ also tipped the Lebanese young talents that are into the music industry saying: “The young talents should practice alot, stick to their own tastes and dont be influenced by what others are playing. They should also start producing music as soon as they can, that seems to be the best way to get noticed these days,” added Nick.

The most recent release for Nick Warren was the Global Underground CD and the new remix which is the first in two years, “A lot were saying Progressive music was “dying” and then again in 2009, the year was very much described as a “revival” of Progressive House. Is it true? People say it is dying every year but it just seems to evolve and continue to grow, the best music always evolves and changes which is what has happened to progressive.”

Over the past twenty years, Nick Warren has become one of the world’s most consistent performance artists.

You can tell when Nick Warren’s on the decks. The music emanating from the DJ booth is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound.

On the floor, where it really matters, the crowd experiences all the peaks and troughs that make Warren’s sensibility so unique.

He might start with his deeper take on house, and then gradually morph into harder territory; then, once Warren has the throng fully in his grip, sweating and losing themselves in the grooves, moving on instinct, he takes them to points unknown they never expected to go.

That’s why Nick Warren is so respected: he knows how to truly work a crowd, delivering again and again, yet taking them somewhere they’ve never been before.
