“In music the passions enjoy themselves.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

The Lebanese are renowned for their many talents, and music is definitely one of them. With so many outstanding DJs in the country, we thought we’d shine a spotlight to highlight some of the best talents in the field by launching the DJs of Lebanon. It’s a way to thank them for providing the soundtrack to some of the best nights of our lives and keep the beats going and going and going.

One of the youngest DJs in Lebanon is the highly in-demand Mini-B. Currently balancing his life between DJing, a radio show on NRJ, a TV show on MTV and his studies at university, this refreshing talent managed to find some time to fill us in on his activities and aspirations for the future.

Who and what are the inspirations for your music?

My main source of inspiration comes from numerous house DJs such as Avicii, Sebastian Ingrosso, Joachim Garraud, Above and Beyond, just to name a few. As for the what inspires me part, I would say touring the world and attending many concerts. Because of that I have a clearer idea of what it is I should be doing as a DJ.

How would you define your genre of music?

Usually almost everybody likes my genre of music. It’s what people listen to on a daily basis. I wouldn’t call it commercial music, but rather “music of the people.”

Where can we listen to you play?

I have a weekly show on NRJ Lebanon 99.1 FM on Saturday nights from 8 to 9pm.  I also do various live performances, so you can catch me almost every week in a different club.

Do you have any albums? Or are you working on one?

Mmmmm, well I am actually working on a project of music production. As far as new albums go, I am working on releasing a promotional album in the near future, all I need is to find some time for it.

How old are you?

Hahaha! You’d be surprised if I told you. I just turned 18 a couple of months ago.

How does it feel to be this young and to already be this popular? Do you think it gives you an advantage in some ways? Is it also bad in some ways?

It’s a very fulfilling feeling. I am really proud of my accomplishments to this day. My advantage is that I still have a lot ahead of me. The awesome feedback that I get from people around me is amazing and I also get free chocolate bars from the store clerk in my neighborhood! I’ve never really thought of any disadvantages. I’m keeping it positive!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I don’t like to plan things, but hopefully with my second family NRJ and MTV. I’m very thankful for everything I have till now. I like things to be spontaneous, hoping for the best in 5 years.

What was your favorite event or show you ever played and why?

Without a doubt, in Lebanon it would be the NRJ Music Tour, I was only 16 at the time! Imagine the feeling of playing in front of 24,000 people. I also enjoyed playing one of my shows in Paris.

What’s the most difficult part about being a DJ?

It’s being able to make sure everybody is happy with the music they are listening to. Another thing is being able to see my friends, attending their birthday parties, etc.

What’s the best part of being a DJ?

Everything else!!!! Being able to spread happiness and love on the dance floor, to see everyone going crazy and enjoying the music you are playing, I really can’t describe the feeling. It’s really amazing to see familiar faces every time and making new friends!

Do you have any other projects going on right now, other than DJing?

I am actually a student in the American University Of Beirut. For me it’s very important to complete my education, so I’m trying to manage my time between music and studies. I also have a TV show that airs on MTV Lebanon from Monday till Saturday at 4:30 pm. I talk about music, movies, and some cool news – it’s mostly for teenagers. It’s really a good experience and I love it!

Do you have some hobbies?

I love to travel, and discover new places.

Where can we follow your news and updates? Do you have a fanpage?

Whats your favorite tune on your iPod right now?

How would you describe Lebanon in one sentence?

A beautiful place with beautiful people who tend to take it for granted from time to time.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I want to thank you Beirutnightlife.com for this continuous support that started from day one, and NRJ and MTV for all the love and non-stop support. As for the readers thank you for all the positive feedback, it really means a lot, I love you guys 😀 !!!!
