THE Toast of the Fashion World: Tim Walker

Lucy Hutchings tells us about the much-awaited Tim Walker Exhibition Opening: THE toast of the fashion world attended the opening of Tim Walker’s new Story Teller exhibition last night, including Kate Moss, Jamie Hince and Cara Delevingne to name but a few. Guests were greeted with music by a string quartet, before Friendly Fires played a live DJ set later on in the evening.

Of course, the highlights of the night were Walker’s awe-inspiring photographs, which were accompanied by fantastical props – from a giant doll to a magical swan boat. We overheard Helena Bonham Carter telling husband Tim Burton how much she wanted some of the macabre, yet beautiful, imagery on display.

Somerset House proved the perfect setting for the evening’s  celebrations, as guests feasted on J Sheekey oysters and Berrytini cocktails in the historic building’s grand halls. Mulberry – the official host of the evening – strongly upheld its reputation for lavish and star-studded parties, and even on a rainy cold October evening the fashion pack couldn’t fail to be impressed by Walker’s mesmerising and otherworldly creations.
