Georges Chakra Couture F/W 10-11 in Paris

Participating in Paris Fashion Week, the Fall Winter 2010-2011 Couture show of Lebanese designer Georges Chakra was held at Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Drawing inspiration from the 1950’ Hollywood glamour, Chakra’s collection combines the gracious mythical look with today’s contemporary allure.

An aristocratic look, that of a woman floating between charm and charisma, between reality and fantasy, was revealed through out the 42 looks. Shoulders were highlighted by strapless necklines, asymmetrical cuts, draped and sequined straps.  A real sleek diva silhouette, accentuated by long body-hugging gowns and knee pencil skirts.

For Chakra, architecture and ‘architexture’ merge; sharp edges and linear cuts are mixed with fluid fabrics, pleated, draped, and ruffled in asymmetric spirals, whirling cutouts, interlacing arabesques of brocade and embroidery. Lace, tulle, gauze, organza and satin blend together in a mesmerizing spiral of femininity and a swirling waltz of sensuality.

An autumnal color palette with different shades of gold, bronze, plum, purple, red, blue and green is lightened with iridescent reflections. Not to forget the classical black and white, glamorously sparkling.

The wedding dress, subtle note mark, closed the fashion show with its amazing romantic charm signing a collection of timeless pieces, celebrating a resolutely modern femininity.
