For the second year in a row, Billabong’s latest bikini designs are featured repeatedly in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
To be showcased in the most-eagerly anticipated magazine issue published in the world each year is a huge honor for any brand. For a company like Billabong, with a 40 year heritage of tying authentic sports to cutting edge fashion, keeping a strong presence in SI is key to each year’s new swimwear line.
“We are so excited and honored to be a part of this years Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition,” said Billabong Girls Design Director Mandy Fry. “They have featured suits from our Spring 2013 collection which were inspired by traditional Guatemalan textiles. The response to this fresh direction has been amazing.”
Billabong’s ties to the new SI include not only product but the personalities on the pages as well.
“We also have to give some congratulations to former Billabong models, Chrissy Teigen and Alyssa Miller for being highlighted as two of this years hottest SI models,” added Fry. “The entire Billabong Girls creative team loves to see how their careers have evolved!”
Beautifully displayed upon the figures of SI’s stunning models in the print edition of Sports Illustrated this week are suits from Billabong’s Spring 2013 collection which include the Baja triangle which retails for $69.50 and the Diem Stringer bottom available for $34.00. Seen online is the Daniella underwire bandeau lowrider set that retails for $88.00 as well as the Baja triangle.
