I don’t generally pay much attention to Resort collections. Although I can appreciate how they can find a place in our lives – well, the lives of those of us jetsetting to St Barth in the winter – I like when collections come twice a year and that’s it. More than that and I am approaching a fashion overdose. Too much to take in.
However, Elie Saab’s Resort 2013 collection caught my attention… Firstly because the red carpet master is now making shorts and all sorts of very interesting daywear, which definitely speaks to me way more than a sequinned gown.
Secondly, there is a lovely little film, set in Paris and involving a group of very pretty ladies going on a cruise on the River Seine. You see, this is one of my absolute favourite things to do in Paris and looking at the delicious shades of pistacchio, raspberry, chocolate and vanilla of the Elie Saab collection is really making me crave a chic nautical excursion with my Parisian girlfriends (that may or may not involve ice cream in all the flavours mentioned above).
