On the rooftop of the Le Vendome Intercontinental hotel in Ain Mreysseh, Sydney’s boasts a luxurious yet comfortable setting that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and the lovely Manara strip. Not only is the panoramic view breathtaking, but the venue itself looks like it belongs in a décor magazine. In each nook, there is a private lounge that looks and feels like your very own living room. The oak-covered walls add a refined touch to the place and create a cozy and intimate feeling for everyone present. This vibe generates an ideal setting for a brunch, an afternoon tea, a late dinner, or an early breakfast. You have the choice to either lounge about with a cigar and a drink or be seated at a dinner table to enjoy a delicious meal and the lovely view of the city and the sea.
If it’s your first time lunching or dining at Sydney’s, be sure to ask for the Sydney’s Club Sandwich which has been a favorite among many that have tried it. With a side order of fries, you’ll be left asking for a second portion. The Risotto Champignons des Bois is very good, and is quite a treat for all you mushroom lovers out there – ask your waiter to tell the chef not to add any salt to it as it may turn out a bit too salty. The Ravioli aux Cèpes is also very tasty and is ideal as a secondary platter or something to be shared. The Cote de Veau is succulent, juicy, and tender – watch out for the fatty edges.
The food won’t sweep you off your feet, but it is average in taste and quality. Sydney’s is more of a cigar lounge and its appeal is its setting, not its cuisine. The staff is all very trained and friendly. You will usually experience no delay in service
Sydney’s is an ideal venue for any time of the day. I suggest you go there for a cigar or a quick bite to eat during weekdays, followed by a relaxing drink. On the weekends, you can pass by afterhours if you’re in the mood for some of its delectable sandwiches which are a perfect treat for an empty stomach after a night out on the town. It is ideal for an older crowd who is looking for a quiet evening with some friends.
The dress code is smart casual or relaxed business casual.
Price per person including drinks is approximately 60 USD.
