eForno: A Little Taste Of Italy In Byblos

éForno is a cozy little Italian pizzeria that has been opened in Eddé Yard in the Byblos Souk since 2006. Facing éCafé, this authentic venue seats 20 people and serves you pizza prepared in a wood-fired oven. Yes, t’is a little taste of Italy in the heart of Byblos.

The décor is as simple and charming as it gets; with honey-colored stone walls and decorative wall paintings. My favorite element of design would have to be the ceiling fan, which brought back memories of childhood. It’s been years since I’ve seen a ceiling fan so delightfully used as a part of the décor. The tables and purple-colored velvet padded chairs are also very simple yet inviting. As soon as we walked in to the venue, I felt as though I was being invited into a friend’s home. Kudos to that, as this is definitely the spirit to capture in an Italian restaurant.

As of April, the outdoor seating area will welcome an additional 60 people to dine in the open air and enjoy the delicious smell of bread from the oven.

Starting with the antipasti, the bruschetta couldn’t have been more fresh and pleasing with its fresh tomatoes, and olive oil and basil tinge. For the salad, we ordered the premizie del guardino which was even more delicious than its name connotes, with a mixture of crisp lettuce, a generous portion of avocado, juicy cherry tomatoes, delicious crunchy asparagus, and fresh mushrooms.

Following with a pizza, we ordered the Prosciutto e funghi with tomato, ham, mozzarella, and fresh mushrooms. For simple tastes out there, this is the pizza for you. Straight from the wood-fired oven, enjoy its rich combination of toppings and the freshness of its dough . . . delicioso! For something a little bit different, you can order the bresaola pizza with tomato, mozzarella, bresaola, rocket leaves, and parmesan shavings. We also ordered the risotto porcini with porcini mushrooms and fresh basil, which is perfect for mushroom lovers, but if you’re starting to feel full, I suggest you order the fettucini pollo pasta instead, with fresh cream, chicken, fresh mushrooms, and parsley – majorly yummy and our favorite dish of the evening!

We ended our meal with a typical Italian dessert, the tiramisu, and although I’m not a tiramisu fan I absolutely loved its appetizing creamy texture and its light, fresh taste. It was utterly delectable.

The staff was very friendly and accurate, and the ambiance was very casual and uncomplicated. This venue is ideal for a quick informal bite to eat, whether you’re with friends, family, or a date.
