Steven Soderbergh Is Retiring From Filmmaking

Unfortunate news indicates that Steven Soderbergh will be retiring from his filmmaking career in Hollywood. He has two upcoming movies: Liberace starring Michael Douglas, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring George Clooney; once he’s done working on those, he’s quitting filmmaking.

What horrible news!

When Soderbergh was asked why he’s quitting filmmaking, this was his answer:

“It’s just time. When you reach the point where you’re like if I have to get into a van to do another scout I’m just going to shoot myself, it’s time to let somebody else who’s still excited about getting in the van, get in the van.

For the last three years I’ve been turning down everything that comes my way. You’re not gonna have Steven Soderbergh to kick around anymore.”

Ah well, it seems like he lost his passion for filmmaking and that’s quite a shame since he worked on many great movies like Erin Brockovich and the Ocean’s Eleven series.

We’ll be very sad to see you go Mr. Soderbergh, but it seems like you’ve made up your mind and you pretty much know what you’re doing! Nevertheless, we’ll be looking forward to watching your next two movies.
