It was a major blow for James Cameron and his Avatar crew this Sunday at the 82nd Academy Award Ceremony. The Iraq based movie directed by the Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) and starred by Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie swept six out of nine nominations this year causing a huge disappointment for the Avatar crew and fans.
The Hurt Locker story talks about a forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb. The star of the show won Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Editing , Best Director and Best Picture.
The best leading actor went to Jeff Bridges for his role in Crazy Heart and the best leading actress went for Sandra Bullock for her amazing part in The Blind Side.
