Scooter Commuter: Fold-up your bike

A SCOOTER that folds up and fits partly into a backpack could soon be zooming commuters to work.

The electric bike has a top speed of 28mph and takes just an hour to charge.

And although it will set punters back £2,000 it could save buyers a fortune in making parking charges a thing of the past.

The practical scooter has a battery life of 22 miles and folds in the middle — allowing the user to easily take it on the train with them or stow it under their desk.

Propelled by motors tucked away in each of the bike’s wheels, the Moveo – which weighs just 25 kilograms – has a comfy leather seat built in to make the ride as smooth as possible.

And when you reach the office, the carbon scooter can be folded in two and pulled along like a suitcase – with the seat turning itself into a backpack.

The company that designed the Moveo hope that it will be on sale by January 2014.

Tamas Slezak, who helped to develop the scooter, believes the product will change the way people travel to work.

He said: “You can travel eco-friendly in the easiest and quickest way, and our innovative product will suit commuters in big cities around the world.

“The Moveo is ultra light-weight and is the best additional vehicle to public transport.”
