Looking for something different? Expressive? Head down to Agial Art Gallery in Hamra and meet the works of talented Nathalie Khayat.
Born in 1966, Beirut, Lebanon. Nathalie Khayat started working with porcelain ten years ago, gradually building up her vocabulary and a genuinely free approach to clay.
This exhibition is about Nathalie’s ecstatic moments with her potter’s wheel, the white porcelain that she uses, and the interaction with her surroundings. If nature is present in her inspiration as a very pure expression – the horizon, horizontality, entering the earth or escaping it – Sound or its absence, inner silence and inner landscape are more of what it is about. Nathalie’s pots become vessels that sound and vibrate, or go quiet and dormant.
