Summer is in full gear and events and festivals around the country are still going strong. Also this week it’s the start of Ramadan so the agenda might be a little bit different for some of you. Whatever you want to get up to this week, there’s definitely something new for you to check out and try. Here’s our top 12 for this week:
1 – Layalina Ramadan Tent for Souhour
Ramadan is a time for fasting and it’s a time for spending times with family and friends. During these times of long days of fasting Riviera Hotel’s new Layalina Ramadan Tent invites you to have souhour, with live saj stations and available arguileh as well as entertainment with famous singers and public figures from 10 pm to 12 am. Want to spend a fun night out without having to move too much or even talk? Going to the movies is always a great option for a chill night where you can soak up a good story, and great visuals and sounds. 4- Tiki Retro at Bonita Bay on Friday Night
We’re loving the feel good vibes at the Tiki Retro theme night at Bonta Bay every Friday. Starting at 9 pm come down for fresh cocktails made with exotic fruits, and listen to lively, happy music. Details.
5- Hunter/Game at Electric Sundown at Iris Beach Club on Friday Night
Italian DJ producers Hunger/Game are taking over the Iris Beach Club in Damour this Friday night for another “Electric Sundown” night. The fun starts at 4 pm and lasts well into the night and this time the Ibiza-based DJs are sure to make it a night to remember. Details
6 – Lick My Lollipop at BLVD 44 on Friday Night
The creative bunch at BLVD 44 love a provocative night of RnB music, dancing and fun! The Too Mucking Fuch Fridays series is being transformed into Lick My Lollipop Friday, featuring DJ Jack Sleiman aka DJ GodFather, from Montreal and livin’ it up in Beirut. Details.
7 – Ora’s One Thousand and One Night with DJ Said Mrad on Friday
The master of Arabian Electronic Dance Music, Said Mrad, is at the beautiful seaside lounge Ora Beirut this Friday for a unique night of glamour and glitz with amazing Arabic-infused rhythmic tunes. One Thousand and One Night is not something to be missed. Details.
8 -Cassis in Uruguay Street
If you’re into chilling with friends over great food and a casual drink at a trendy bar, we’ve got just the place. Cassis in Downtown Beirut’s Uruguay Street is a hub for cool locals and tourists who enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the menu’s many temptations. Pass by for a quick drink after work or stay the evening on the weekend, but do give it a try.
9 – Pet Shop Boys at Byblos International Festival on Saturday Night
Two massive back to back concerts at the Byblos International Festival this weekend and the first is the hugely popular English Electronic Pop duo from the 80s. Their hits and endless and each better than the next. These classic musicians are a must see in Beirut at the amazing venue by the old port of Byblos. Details.
10 – One Republic at Byblos International Festival on Sunday Night
Another huge band that’s much newer than their fellow Byblos performers from the previous night, One Republic only started out in 2007 but already ammassed an impressive collection of hit songs, including “Stop and Stare”, “Good Life” and “All the Right Moves”. This will be a night to remember so make sure you’re a part of it. Details.
11 – Khaymet Burj Al Hamam at Movenpick Hotel Beirut
Another must-try for Ramadan is the new tent set up at the Marina Marquee in Beirut’s Movenpick Hotel. It features mouthwatering Lebanese delicacies from the renowned restaurant Burj Al Hamam, as well as live Oud tunes and is open for sunset iftars and moonlight souhours.
12 – Copla in Downtown Beirut
If it’s a delicious dinner you’re after, try the Spanish bistro newly opened in Downtown Beirut in the lux Park Avenue area. Copla’s delicious cuisine features sophisticated Andalusian tapas and dishes by two star Michelin Chef Dani Garcia and is designed by renowned architect Bernard Khoury. You won’t regret it.
