Cheese & Wine With Cheese Expert Claude Lauxerrois at Eau De Vie

The Phoenicia Hotel’s rooftop restaurant Eau De Vie hosted four delicious nights of cheese and wine prepared by renowned cheese expert, Maitre Claude Lauxerrois, winner of the Mercure d’Or in 1977. He is visiting Lebanon for the 8^th time, and continuously expresses his admiration for Lebanon, its wine, its hospitality and its people.

From the 4^th till the 7^th of April, Maitre Lauxerrois prepared a selection of cheeses that he handpicked from several regions in France; and I must say, once I tasted his cheese selection, no supermarket cheese will ever suffice! I spent a delicious evening nibbling on the finest cheeses while drinking some delicious Chateau Musar Hochar red wine – what a perfect combination.

My favorite cheeses were the following: Bleu d’Auvergne, Abbaye, Brie de Meaux, Camembert Normandie and Cantal Auvergne. What a delectable treat!

This unforgettable evening at Eau De Vie was at 60 USD per person, including an open cheese and wine buffet.
