Dvorak’s piano quartet is a wonderful work comprising lyrical sequences combined with Bohemian folk melodies.

As for Beethoven’s septet, it is a very lighthearted work. The septet was an instant triumph so much that Beethoven himself was worried that its immense success would overshadow other of his works.

Instruments for the septet:

clarinet, horn, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, and double bass

A. Dvořák – Piano quartet Op. 87

L. van Beethoven – Septet for Strings and Winds, Op. 20
