At 9:30 sharp, nostalgia kicked in with Man In The Mirror, the number one tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson. The singing and dancing tribute group came out dressed in black and white starting their spectacular performance with “Billy Jean”…of course the performance was full of MJ’s signature thrust moves and antics. After, the group went straight into “Jam”. Videos flashed on the screen with A-List celebrities paying respects to the late, great Michael Jackson.
Go-Go dancers and female tribute vocalists came out to “Blame It On the Boogie”, asking the audience at Beirut Souks to put their hands together for “Can You Feel It”. Soon after, the dance group took the mood down serenading the crowd with “I’ll Be There”. Just as the audience seemed calm, the mood picked right back up with one of my personal favorites, “Rock With You”. The choreography was dead on. Dancers synchronized their steps to “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough”. Next up was my favorite performance of the evening, bright lights flashed as dancers really got into the groove and urban theme of “Beat It”. “Pretty Young Thing” followed putting smiles on all of the PYT’s in the audience.
“It’s close to midnight”…. well ok, it was only 10 o’clock but everyone knows the opening lyrics to “Thriller”! Dancing ghouls and goblins joined singers on stage for one of the most popular Micheal Jackson songs ever written.
After intermission, “Annie Are You Ok” blasted through the speakers, dancers decked out in red seduced the crowd with sultry moves. Next, the boys ran the stage for MJ’s jam, “Bad”. “Dirty Diana” got nasty on stage and of course I mean that in a good way. “The Way You Make Me Feel” made the crowd; yep you guessed it, really turned them on. Clips of Michael Jackson came up on the large screen with MJ himself talking about his fans and touring. It was nice to get a look into his personal life. The dancers continued their amazing show with “They Don’t Care About Us”, “Scream”, “We Are The World” and ABC…123…it was now time for Jackson 5 hits!
A truly beautiful tribute followed with “You Are Not Alone” followed by the hit all of us now know, “Man In The Mirror”. Fans in Lebanon were on their feet giving the group a much deserved standing ovation, in which the crew replied to with an upbeat encore.
Beirut Holidays did something great bringing Man In The Mirror to Lebanon so BeirutNightLife.com would like to bring the experience to you through the photos below…
