Rosè, open on Gemmayze’s Pasteur Street, has just celebrated its one year anniversary. This Spanish fusion restaurant and bar combines good food and lively music to give its customers the full experience of a fun night out.
The venue is divided into three sections: the chic indoor dining area, the sexy bar area, and the charming outdoor terrace. Although each area has a different rhythm and flavor, you will enjoy your evening regardless of where you choose to sit. The indoor dining area is very elegant and a lot calmer than the terrace and the bar. If you’re looking for a chic dining experience, this is the section for you. The terrace has a European feel to it; it’s mellow and comfortable with a beautiful charm to it. I definitely recommend the terrace area while dining at Rosè since the setting is so magical. The bar area has louder music, but not too loud so that you can still hold a conversation with your friends. The bar menu has a different menu than the restaurant itself, but the food is nevertheless delicious. It’s a perfect place for those looking for more entertainment while eating and drinking.
With high ceilings and touches of pink, the restaurant’s sexy décor is a mix of old and new, elegant and modern, flashy and discreet. The design of the place was definitely one of my favorite things about it; looking around you is definitely a feast for the eyes.
The food is a delicious fusion menu with Spanish touches in its platters. Although I love simplicity in food, there is nothing simple about Rosè’s platters. Everything has a twist to it. Some twists are actually fun and delicious, while others are quite overdone and pointless. What I did like on the menu is the Foie Gras that is very rich and always paired with other delicious ingredients, making it quite a treat for your taste buds. The Foie Fondue is a Foie Gras fondue served with delicious fresh and dried fruits – this is a fabulous treat for two. The Crab Salad is also very tasty; it is fresh, light, and also mixed with other components that result in a scrumptious dish. The Wagyu Beef Tartar is simple yet filled with flavor. It comes with a side order of the most delicious French fries and an original Dijon mustard ice cream. Although it sounds bizarre, the combination is mouthwatering. For your main dish, try the Grilled Salmon that is carefully cooked to perfection. You can also order the succulent Angus beef Filet with a side order of sautéed vegetables and potatoes. The star of the evening would have to be the dessert: the Chocolate Fondant. Pricey, yes, but it’s quite the delight for your senses. Its special unique touches are prepared in front of you – I won’t ruin the surprise for you, so try this delicious, heavenly chocolate mixture.
For drinks, I suggest you ask for a glass of Gavi di Gavi white wine or Martini Rosé – these are perfect drinks for such a night out.
The staff is friendly and usually there isn’t much delay with regards to your order – minus the obnoxious bartender.
I like Rosè for its unique ambiance. It’s elegant yet comfortable and fun. It has delicious food minus the silent, boring ambiance that you usually have to tolerate while dining somewhere fancy. It’s a place where you can try new and interesting platters then enjoy a drink while listening to some good music later on. I recommend this place for a group of friends looking for a mellow but fun night out or for a first date – it combines all elements that are essential to make a first date charming; the good food, the music, the drinks, the comfortable mood.
