2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe & CTS-V Coupe makes a spectacular entrance

Middle East Regional celebrities, VIPs and members of the media got at a lavish gala event held to celebrate the launch of the all-new2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe and CTS–V Coupe.

Held in Lebanon, the night featured entertainment to reflect Cadillac’s Arts & Science philosophy, and kept in theme with the dramatic design and sophisticated performance of the Cadillac CTS Coupe.

Arriving in Cadillac showrooms in September 2010, the CTS Coupe is a new luxury sports coupe designed to become the centerpiece of the brand’s revised lineup.

“We built on the very sucessful CTS Sports Sedan, extending its potential in order to develop a compelling new alternative for luxury and performance minded drivers, and resulted in the CTS Coupe and CTS-V Coupe,” said Don Butler, Vice President of Cadillac Marketing, “The addition of a Coupe provides an entryway for new consumers to experience the Cadillac Arts & Science philosophy of the brand.”

The Coupe is a classic 2+2 layout bolstered with advanced technology, such as a rear-view camera system and a performance-oriented suspension system coupled to rear-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The CTS Coupe emerged as a proposal inside Cadillac’s dedicated design studio, where designers develop and evolve the brand’s Art and Science design philosophy. The overall effect is a distinctive design that is both precise and refined, and includes touch-pad door entry, revised gearing, increased cornering capability, and more responsive driving experience.

At first glance, the shape of CTS Coupe is refreshingly simple, yet amplified with intricately carved details. Distinctive and original Cadillac signature cues combine with hand-sculpted forms, artfully articulating the capability of the chassis. Unique design features for the CTS–V Coupe include a grille that doubles car’s air intake volume, an important enabler for its high-performance capabilities.

The CTS Coupe is powered by a 3.6L direct injected V-6 rated at 304 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (and available steering wheel mounted shift buttons) is standard. The high-performance CTS-V Coupe receives the same, 556-horsepower 6.2L supercharged V-8 found in the landmark CTS-V Sport Sedan.

The V-Series also reaches elite levels of road-holding performance, but also maintains the poise of a luxury car in “regular” driving conditions due to Cadillac’s landmark Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension technology. This is in addition to sophisticated braking and tire systems, in partnership with two companies renowned for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin.

Inside, the CTS Coupe’s interior emphasizes technical precision with elegant including hand-sewn accents covering the door, center storage console and instrument panel trim.

The CTS-V Coupe also includes exclusive new ebony seats with a saffron sueded fabric option for the interior, providing a contrasting color accent carried on the seat inserts, as well as the stitching.
